Here we go...

Dustin and I have finally decided to take the plunge into the blog world! To be perfectly honest, we are not the most exciting of people, but we do have friends and family that are spread out throughout the country and we would love to be able to stay better in touch with everybody than we have in the past. Although a blog doesn’t replace a conversation over the phone or an occasional visit, at least we can let those who are nearest and dearest to us into our lives a little bit more. Don’t get me wrong, my mom and I are on the phone virtually every day, but there are those we don’t talk to as much. Plus... there are also some selfish reasons behind doing this as well. Maybe this will better force us to keep a journal of our lives and to remember those little day to day things that we so quickly forget.

As Dustin has put it in our description, we are a DINC (Dual Income, No Children) family. In most of the United States that would be quite normal after (almost) 5 years of marriage. However, in Utah, that is not the norm and actually quite surprising to most people here. We have been able to do a lot of wonderful things, travel to exciting places, raise the most beautiful and wonderful dog in the world and we are so grateful for the time that we have had to spend together. Over the past year and a half we have been trying to change our DINC status and so far we have had no luck… but hopefully that luck will change in the near future.

Most of the “family” blogs that I see (trust me, I read more into the lives of people that I don’t know than I care to admit) happen to be written by one person, usually the wife. However, Dustin has a passion for writing and we felt that we could best represent ourselves by tag-teaming and making this blog a joint contribution. Through the blogs of my friends, it has been so great to see everything that is going on in their lives and I hope that we can do the same for our friends and family. So… here we go…
